If I look at the source code of my home page I just noticed that my keyword list differs drastically from that of my meta_tags.php. (or english.php, for that matter) Is there another place to define the site keywords?

The list is built dynamically based on page name, category, and a bunch of other factors.
But don't kill yourself worrying about this; most SEs disregard the keywords tag.
