Newbe - importing products

I am in the process of redoing our online store. I have installed OScommerce on my site but came across this zen cart software package and think I will try it out. OSC had a tool called Easy Populate that would allow me to import a tab separated file with all my inventory products and prices into the shopping cart. What I'm wondering is does zen cart have a similar feature or add-on that could do this?

Also, does integrating zen cart into a site work similar to OSC with the header and footer files?

Yes... there is an easypopulate for zen. Do a search on the forum. I think you can download it from a place called breakmyzencart or something like that.
