AU: Manual Credit Card

Just wondering what other AU merchants are presently using when accepting Manual Credit Card over the internet.

I saw e-path.com.au suggested in one post ... CEON in another ...

What is the safest route to go at this point for my 60yo mother to manage her online store?

She wants to manually process all credit card thru the physical terminal shes already got.

How safe is it to have the first 4 and last 4 stored in the server system? Is it possible to get the middle numbers sent to two email addresses being one address would be the backup - deleted daily.

Is it possible for me to delete the first 4 and last 4 when the order has been shipped somehow, which sql file do I need to look into?

I would suggest the Ceon manual (offline) mod if your mother already has a physical terminal and wishes to process offline - you may want to check that her agreement with the card company allows that though. Here in the UK you need a separate merchant account for internet sales, but perhaps it's different for you.

The first 4 and last 4 stored on the server should be safe enough.

For additional security, you could use an SSL (authenticated) connection in your email client for retrieving emails containing the middle 8 digits, and set your email client to delete the mail on the server after you've retrieved it on that account.
