    Default Email Setup

My reasoning was that if I could set up my Outlook to POP my assorted email accounts, and route my outgoing mail thru my ISP how hard could it be to set the email on Zen Cart.

    Well, I'm pooped.
Will this work from localhost, or should I not bother?
Is it time that I sent my cart up to it's final resting place before I set up the emailing?

And having said that, why is it that some of you don't like GoDaddy??
I have my URLs parked there...

Can someone please walk me thru what goes where in the set up?

    Thank you,
    ~Zin

P.S. When I make my first nickel, I promise, you'll get your share.

This Zinfandel guy is starting to creep me out.
    He just doesn't get it.

If you want some help from these nice people, you're going to have to figure out how to talk to them nicely.

Up until now, you may have been well intentioned, but you come off sounding like a wise a_ss.

If you want help Zinfandel, just ask the question, and leave the attitude somewhere else. No one here owes you anything. And... if you can't be nice, you better not base an ecommerce business on this piece of software.

    There, I told him off.

    help question Re: Email Setup

I really like Zen Cart, I just get frustrated sometimes.
I also have trouble admitting that I need help.
And then, and then, and then I don't have the patience to wait for the answer that I need.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to be so arrogant.

I just want my site to work nicely and I want to be proud to say that I did with Zen Cart!!

    Heeeelp meeee, pleeease.

Do you even have a mail server on your local server?

If not, give it up ...

Have a Drink Re: Email Setup

    Thanks Linda,

I was feeling guilty and I just bought the team a fifty pound bag of coffee.

I guess that really does answer my question. I would need a mail server, if I happen to be running off localhost.

There's so much to think of and dozens of places to get answers.
I'm off to another thread, for another answer.

Thanks Linda, if you're in the NNJ area, I would consider buying you a personal cup of coffee.

    As a follow up,

I reset to SMTPAUTH, indicated my personal email account at verizon FIOS, and stopped getting the email error I was getting.

The mail however, never arrived back at the store's email address.

So now, I need to figure out why?

I never could understand how Merlin pulls off those tricks where everything works honky-dory and nothing is ever wrong.

    Zin...

Perhaps you should talk to merlin about hosting...

Then you could concentrate on selling stuff in a shop that's working properly instead of spending large amounts of time on the forum.

A good, knowledgeable host is 90% of the secret of a successful zen shop.
