how to delete the images not in use ?

hi,
I have 100s of images that are not displayed in the store becouse are images of products that are obsolete.

how can I delete all those images ?

Use your FTP program to delete them from the server.

the problem is that i do not know the images that are in use or not !

the process should be :

I read an image from site (/images) and if it is not in the db it must be deleted else go to the next image..!

is a code similar ?

There isn't anything built in to check image names but it could be written ...

The safest method being to test image names against products, categories and manufactuers and then check the medium, large, additional and additional large ...

Move to another directory before deleting ...

While this code does not exist at this time, yes it could be customized to analys all of those image filenames for you and figure out what you can get rid of and do it automatically or move to a separate directory for review etc.
