Flat Rate for some products, ship by weight for other products

I have a client who wants to ship directly from a supplier who offers a flat rate shipping price - say $10 per order. The client also has other items of stock which she wants to ship by weight.

Any ideas on how to do this? Or if this can be done?

You would need to decide what to do about mixed orders ...

Meanwhile you could customize the shipping modules to either check for that manufacturer or add a flag on the products table for which shipping method is needed to use ...

On mixed orders you could have, for example UPS for the regular by weight orders calculate the charges and then add an additional calculation for those products for that manufactuer to be calculated and added on to the USP charge ...
