Default Transfer of Database & Webhost

Ok, I have had it with my webhost. They moved to a new datacenter and in the process crashed my site for 36 hours only to have it come up at this slow as dirt rate. I want to transfer. My question is, can I transfer the site without having to reinstall Zen and lose all my customers' database information?

Thank you so much for your reply.

What you need to do is export your current database and save it to your local drive. Your webmaster panel should give you access to phpMyAdmin which will allow you to export the data.

Also, FTP your ZC files (all of them) to your local drive from your current site.

When you get your new hosting, you'll have to create a database and install ZC. Make note of the contents of the new configure files. You may want to rename them. Then upload your ZC files to the domain. At this point, you'lle either have to edit the config files or rename the ones you uploaded and replace them with the ones ZC created on install. Lastly, import the data from your webmaster panel.

You should be good to go.

phpMyAdmin won't harm your data. It will still be there after export.

You have two configuration files: /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php which will need to be edited (or renamed) as I described above.

You can take your shop down for maintenance in the admin under configuration.

I could do it for you, but that would mean I'd end up with a copy of your site and all your customer data.
