Default LP: Amex Security Code Not Processed

Since I signed up for an AMEX merchant account, I've had about 4-5 sales come through with people using AMEX. For some reason, however, the security code on the card is never processed. I always receive a response of YYYP from the gateway. Can anyone give me insight on what could be wrong, or is this normal behavior?

I'm not sure if its a gateway problem or what. But generally, whenever someone inputs the CVV/security code, it will return an N (no match) or M (match). For some reason, AMEX transactions are always P, which after reading up about it means "Not Processed".. almost as if its not being sent to the gateway or the gateway doesn't like it for some reason.

I'll call up Linkpoint to see if its a problem on their end, but just thought i'd make a note about it on here as well

It could just be that the amex processing center sends back that code regardless. Sadly, there are odd inconsistencies within that industry...

Ah ok, thats cool. Thanks for your responses anyway :) I sort of figured it was more of an AMEX problem but thought I'd double check
