Account Creation Fields

Hi All,

I'm currently working on a site using Zen Cart that is meant specifically to show case product that is within our brick and mortar store (not to sell anything from). We're keeping the user account system so buyers can still do product reviews, sign up for the newsletter, and use the tell a friend system. However, when you go to create an account, it requires a bunch of stuff we really don't need, like phone numbers, address, date of birth, and stuff like that. All we really need is the email address and name. Is there a way to remove the other fields?

In Admin, under Configuration > Customer Details, you can set which fields to display.

Under Configuration > Minimum Values, set to 0 the Date of Birth or whatever you don't want to require for sign-up.

Read this and went to change mine. It removes the line completly. I have a question to add to it.

How can I have the info asked for but not required. EG. DOB on the page but up to the customer if they fill it in or not?
