One product, different sizes / colors

Hello all, Im sure many of you have done this before but Im not sure how...

-I have one product. It has different sizes and different colors.
-I dont want to make a new product listing for every color and size for this product.
-I want to list the product, and in the product details page have a dropdown that the user can choose their size and color from.
-This information will then show up in their shopping cart along with the product.

Can anyone point me to a post/contribution/ or answer as to how to do this?

Excellent. Thats what I wanted as I didnt know what they were called and what to search for :)
