Setting up a Staging (Test) Store

I apologise if this post is in the wrong forum.

I am just having a little trouble setting up a testing store on my website.

My main store is just located in the root folder of my website. I have created a Stage folder and i am trying to setup another store within that folder for testing purposes.

Can someone please tell me what settings in the configure.php files (catalog & admin) need to have the stage folder appended onto them and which settings are just relative to the value of another setting.

Short answer - it depends...
If your existing store is www.myonetruedomain.com, then your addon store would have a store root of www.myonetruedomain.com/stage/. Similarly where the existing store has a path of / you would need /stage/ Also be aware that while most configure.php entries require the trailing / to be there, a couple do not.
You would also preferrably need another database for the new store. While you can use databse prefixes to get around this, it can get messy.

The WS_CATALOG entries should be the path to the new store root folder, i.e./stage/, while the FS_CATALOG entries should be the full path to the folder - /var/www/myonetruedomain/public_html/stage/.

The subfolders - includes, images, pub etc can stay as they are.
