Default Re: Support thread for Installment Plan Payment Module

Yes, pesky me again. I just unzipped the mod and am reading the install instructions and am at that "doe staring into the light" phase on the first part of #1:

    1. Copy the contents of the invoice folder to the root directory of your
shop. There are two new files in this mod; no existing files are
    overwritten.

What has caused the doe eyes? What invoice folder?

    thank you,

    betty

When you unzip the mod, the top level folder is called "invoice_2".

I've tried extracting 3 times and each time the top directory levels are:

    installment_plan_1.1
    --includes
    README.txt

This is a bug in the README. I mean "installment" not "invoice". Sorry for the confusion.

help question Re: Support thread for Installment Plan Payment Module

Hi there! Any chance we can work together to make this function with Authorize.net to take advantage of their 'Automated Recurring Billing' feature?

Right now one of my clients offers payments but this was accomplished by placing a 'deposit' in the attributes which, when selected, gives a transaction to the 'enable ARB' via authorize.net -- was just wondering if that is something which can be 'triggered' from outside authorize.net???

Anyone have any experience with ARB and know if there is info which can be passed via AIM?

You'd have to start with the authorize.net payment module, not with this - and you'd have to code to their API, etc. etc.

All the Installment Plan module does is what the regular "credit card" module does, but with the ability to divide the total by a specified divisor. There's no logic that will cause recurring billing to occur automagically. You have to do it by hand.

Got ya... in that case I can still see using it to help people figure their 'payments' instead of the using an excel spreadsheet to figure before entering the ARB.
Ah... except then it will not enter the first transaction for them... right now they search for the first one then use a link to 'create ARB' -- thanks for the clarification!

    Hi,

I just installed this and I can see the option in admin as well as on my shopping cart. However, when I place a test order, it shows the correct payment, but when I get to the final checkout screen, it shows the full amount again. Shouldn't it show total amount -current installment with a balance due?

The full amount also shows in the order emails to me and the customer. If the total product was $1000, it shows as if $1000 is being billed rather than an installment of $500. If I have two installments set up, it makes sense to me for the order and the email to show that $500 is being billed now and $500 will be billed in 1 month rather than showing the total. This will be so confusing for the customer. Is this working correctly?

They've agreed to pay $1000 by installment, so that's the amount it shows. If you want to show the $500 figure in the email, you would have to modify your email template.
