Upgrade 1.2.7 database to 1.3.7 - but still use 1.2.7 files - possible?

I'm slowly upgrading from 1.2.7 to 1.3.7

I've had and am still having a few hacks done to 1.3.7

However, I'd like to upgrade the 1.2.7 database now to 1.3.7 db but still use the 1.2.7 cart with the upgraded db if possible so that I can just slide the 1.3.7 cart into place when it's ready.

Will the 1.2.7 cart work okay with the upgraded 1.3.7 database?

NO,

This is not a good course as there have been changs that are not compatible.

If you have good tools for the DB like phpmyadmin with full access/capability

All you need do is place the site down for maint Pull a backup (this can be only the customers and orders tables if preferred) insert this into the new DB re-run the zc_insrtall to upgrade the DB a last time - move the files or rename the dirs and take it off maint.

Normally, a full backup is applied - if there are major configuration differences between the old and new you might omit this table
