Thank you for all your help can I come and ask questions if problems come up
That's what this thread is for:)
Do make sure to read the readme thoroughly first, of course.
Hi
I have installed the add on . though the read me file does not make sense to me .. I know what I want to do yet not sure how to change the defines to make it work .
I want to set up the categories as follows :
Photography as a top header then the names ( artists underneath)
Greeting Cards as a top header then the names ( categories underneath)
Scrap Kits as a top header then the names ( categories underneath)
and so on
I don't understand the defines file enough to change to how I would like .
Can you help me just a little with explaining some about how to set up like I would want?
Any help would be great
Debbie
Unless you don't want the top categories to be clickable, you would just style them to look like the headings you want. You would first need to install the chcategories option so that the subcats would all show.
To style only the top categories, add a new rule just below the #chcategories ul a {/*top categories*/ rule, likeIn any case, you will need to make a define for each top category id, setting it to start a new category group.Code:#chcategoriesContent>ul>li>a {/*top categories only*/ whatever styling: you want; }How do you want the sub-subcategories to behave? All visible always, or sub-subcats only visible when their parent is active? The first will require a define for CAT_ACTIVE_LEVEL, the second requires no action.PHP Code:
define ('CAT_BOX_HEADING_1','1|0||');//new list - no headings
Oops, forgot...It's the other way around:The first will require a define for CAT_ACTIVE_LEVEL, the second requires no action.
The first requires no action, the second will require a define for CAT_ACTIVE_LEVEL... as I originally typed, then thought I was mistaken... but I was wrong;)
Is it possible to hide one top category and show all others?
Well, I answered my own question. Here's my workaround in case anyone else wants to know. I'm selling e-books on my site and wanted to hide the "series" categories. This is what I did:
1) Created a top category called SERIES. Turn it OFF (red button beside it in the Admin instead of green).
2) Move all my series categories into the top category SERIES. Make sure the categories are turned ON (green button instead of red).
3) Create an EZ-Page with all my series links in it. Link to the new subcategories directly (with a cPath=CATEGORY_ID link instead of the cPath=TOPCAT_CATID).
I hope this makes sense!
I've begun working on a truck accessory website and was hoping for some help on the coding. I want to format the website in X-cart and use a template similar to this:
http://www.hitchanything.com/
I really like how this company formatted the site and want to base my site off this model. I'm good on the html, but need a programmer to get some stuff done.
I'm not sure why you are asking about x-cart site building in the Zen Cart support forum. X-cart must have some kind of support site. I also don't see how your question is relevant to the Categories Dressing mod support thread given the vanilla nature of the categories menu on the site you reference. But good luck with your site!
