Media Collection Problems

I have a couple of probs:

1. Media (wav or MP3) won't upload - (500 Server Error) - includes/media set to 777

2. Why can't we attached media to General Product? IE: I sell instruments and would like to have an easy way to add a simple link to a sound file in the Products Listing or Description Pages. That way I could upload the clips via FTP and link to them individually for each instrument.

HELP!!! I am ready to trash Zencart because of this!

A 500 Server Error is an internal error and is not normally generated by an application - you should contact your host about this....Or Google for this to see that this is infrequest and the usual causes...

Why can't we attached media to General Product

No reason...the media product type is setup for the other things that most want if selling this type of product i.e. artist label etc., etc
