testing from Admin?

Hi,

I have the cart set up online in testing mode....the login id & transaction
codes are in place. I have Authorize.net as the only payment module
installed.

Is there a way to test the connection from the Admin Panel, or
do I have to put in at least one product and test the payment form
in the cart?

ps- am having a great time with ZenCart! Lots of hoops to jump through

To perform a "test transaction" you have to go through the normal cart checkout process.

This is a wise decision to do anyhow because it is the method your customers will take. It's always good to know that the EXACT route they take works.

I've seen in the past where users test the connection using other "non cart" means, (and without actually going through the steps your customers would if they were going to buy) and they think all is well only to find out (the hard way) that although the "connection" may have worked for testing, the "process" as the customer goes through it was not.

Cool, thanks! Just thought there might be a quickie way just to ping
the server to know the cart was connecting OK.

But I would set up some products first and test it thoroughly before ever going live.
