    Default Drop downs in IE

I am working on a site and all works fine for me, but my customer says that the drop downs at the top do not work in IE. They seem to work fine for me. What about for everyone else?

If they do not work for some, can anyone see why?

    Thank you for your time!

Two on one - perhaps a customer's browser issue.

What version of IE on what operating system?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

It is pure CSS...are there any CSS tricks I can implement to get it to work for all browsers???

I report a similar pull-down menu problem (mouse hover does not activate the menu).

    ZC environment
ZC ver1.3.7 installed with automated Fantastico process in cPanel at Lunarpages.
Apple Zen 2.0 Template Contribution installed.
    No other contribution installed.

Main Site installed in root directory of domain (to become the production site):
    http://aaadisplaygroup.net/index.php

Test Site installed in a different folder in same domain:
    http://aaadisplaygroup.net/z137test1/

Same backup file used to restore both DB.
Main Site and Test Site are not fully synchronized. Differences are mostly located in Apple Zen external CSS file (stylesheet.css). I have also added little flags on the top of the Test Site pages.
There is a Flash file set to transparent (<param value="transparent" name="wmode" />) just below the pull-down menu.

    The pull-down problem
The pull-down menu not working is experienced by customer on Test Site (/z137test1/) only with 3 of his PCs using IE6.
Main Site is working normally at Customer’s location (FL).

I experience no problems on my development PC using XP Pro SP2, IE7 & FF (location WA).

    Is this beyond human comprehension?

    webrob,

IE6 & 7 do not properly support the CSS :hover attribute. At my end, it looks perfect in FF2, IE6 has no drop-downs at all, and IE7 has them but they're shifted to the right.

There is a lot on the web about IE's CSS rendering bugs. At present, I don't know of any pure CSS drop-down menus that work in IE6. You have to use JavaScript to get around IE6's limitations.

I always start with Son of Suckerfish as my code base and build on that. Best thing is to create two IE conditional comments (one for IE6 and one for IE7) so you don't modify the code that you have working with FF.
