    Why would you even try a fresh install of the buggy and insecure v1.3.8 ...

    Or, are you saying you are using a fresh install of v1.3.8 that you have not upgraded yet?

    If so, have you applied ALL of the Known Bug Fixes:

    I have been using 1.3.8 for a while, and I have only applied that bug fix. I will try an upgrade to 1.3.9 and see if it resolves my issue.

    I take it since there is no response that there is not a fix for this.

    I have issued 2 gift certificates today and both customers received 2 email with 2 different redemption codes.

    I am using v1.3.9.g and just set up the Gift Certificate last night.

    I am beginning to think that none of the Order Total Modules work. I have tried for the last 2 months to get the Low Order Fee to work. Now I install the Gift Certificate and it causes nothing but an extra mess to figure out.

    Not a happy camper at the moment.

    "issued 2 gift certificates today" ... What exactly does that mean?
    It could be many things:
    a) 2 customers purchased gift certificates that were queued and you approved them from the queue?
    b) 2 customers purchased gift certificates and were NOT queued because you have queuing turned off?
    c) you used the admin "Mail Gift Certificate" page to send GVs to 2 customers, directly from your admin?
    d) you have a GV balance in *your* customer account, and you forwarded portions of those balances to *other* customers using the "Send GV" option from your storefront My Account area?

    Every one of these scenarios is driven from very different parts of the application, and without knowing *exactly* what you're really talking about, it's impossible to help let alone "fix" something.

    I just tested scenarios a, b, and c from a fresh clean uncustomized install of v1.3.9h, and can only get it to send *one* email for each action.

    Even madly multi-clicking on submit-buttons doesn't seem to be able to cause excess emails to be sent, but then again this server's pretty fast so it doesn't give me much time to click excess times. Maybe your server's slower? Are you impatiently clicking multiple times on a slow server?
    Or are you mistakenly double-clicking buttons when a single-click is all that's needed?

    Are you clicking the "back" button in your browser and accidentally re-submitting the request to send GVs out?

    There are many safeties built-in to prevent things like re-releasing a GV from the GV queue ... for example, as soon as it's released its status is set accordingly, and if someone tries to release it again it finds that the status is already set and therefore refuses to re-release it.

    If there really is a problem, we'd like to fix it, but we need as much detail as possible about what you're trying to do, what you're expecting to have happen when you do it, and what actually is happening contrary to your expectations.

    Er, um, it looks to me like that matter was resolved a long time back, and it was just a setting problem where you were telling it to not apply to virtual items, and yet all you sell are virtual items. http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164047
    If you're actually still having problems with it, wouldn't it be more productive to post back saying you've still got problems, instead of bottling it up and exploding about it along with some other issue?

    I have just had the same thing. I used the Mail gift certificates function to do a test certificate before sending them to actual customers. I selected 1 customer (me) and sent the email. It sent 2 emails both with different codes. I clicked them both and now have double the amount in my test account.

    I am using zencart 1.3.8a

    After sending it says at the top of the screen

    Notice: Email sent to: myemail##########################(2)

    Any suggestions? Hopefully not too technical ones!

    Ha ha, i think ive figured it out, i was having a bit of a blonde moment and putting the email address in the second box, as well as selecting the customer from the dropdown list.

    Its an either / or, i thought you had to do both!
