Default Pass the PayPal fee on to the customer

    Hello

We are a not for profit organization and I am finding that PayPal takes a nice little chunk of our not-for-profit-pie, when a client pays by PayPal IPN.

Therefore, we reluctantly have to pass this fee on to the customer.

If the customer pays within Australia then PayPal take 2.4% + $0.30 of the transaction. If it is a customer outside of Australia then they take another 1%.

Could some genius please tell me how do I pass this fee on to the customer (through shipping??). I, of course, intend on informing the customer (somehow) why this fee exists.

    Thanks.

    Mel

You would need to build that into your prices and offer a cash discount or ... you could work in shipping and handling fees ...

But blatant fee charges are against the PayPal TOS just as it is against those for VISA and MasterCard ...

    Hi Ajeh

Not in Australia, it's not. The Government here has stated that credit card fees can be handed down to the customer.

Our largest telephone company, for one of many, transfer the charge. If you use Amex cards in a shop they charge a % fee. It's a disgrace, because the little man loses.

So, in saying that ... how would I go about this in shipping and handling fees?
