I thought I had done it before but it might have been in another package of software from Drupal.org.
How can I change a user password from the Admin Control Center?

I do not think you can....
A customer can use the forgotten password to have it mailed to them though

I got an private message from someone on these forums linking me to a module that allows you to edit the user password. It is called "Customer Password Edit". I am not going to pay $30 for this. I figured there must be some way I can do this manually in the database or one of the PHP files. Does anyone know if I were to edit only the database, if it would cause any problems?
Thanks for the help :-)

If you look in the DB, these are not stored as text - they are hashed/encrypted.Does anyone know if I were to edit only the database, if it would cause any problems?

Well, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the help. I guess I'll have to figure something else out. Maybe another CMS. I am making a website for someone who deals with older woman and she will probably have to be doing changes for these people. Maybe I'll ask her if she wants to pay $30 for that module.
You can do that easily : install the "master_password" contribution, which allows the admin to enter in anyone's account. You then can just connect on the customer's account, click the "change password" link and enter, again, your master password in the "old password" box. Just then choose a new password.
This works fine.

I got around it by changing the email to resend the reset password to my email address.
I then logged on to check the reset password worked ok, changed the email address backed to the original customer email address.
I then emailed the customer the new working password and asked them to change it next time they log in.
