Synchronizing zen cart with home page

I want to make my home page and zen cart match, of course, but also want some of the features zen cart has on it, such as the sideboxes. But I need the home page links to change as I change them on the Admin., such as the different folders for products. What should I do to make this happen?

Put your home page HTML into define_main_page.php (and disable header/sidebars for home page as required in tpl_main_page.php).
