Pay on collection

how do i give the option of pay on collection, or change cash on delivery?

Go to the Modules ... Payment ... and install the Cash on Delivery cod module ...

But i dont want it to say cash on delivery. thats why i asked if i could change it. i need it to say pay on collection. is this possible?

You can change it in :

/includes/languages/YOUR_LANGUAGE/modules/payment/YOUR_TEMPLATE/cod.php

For future reference, you can also use admin -> tools -> developers tool kit, go to the bottom of the page, type in the phrase you would like to change in the "Key or Name:" box right under "Look-up in all files", then select "catalog/admin" and hit "search". You will be able to find loads of useful information there.
