Moving to a new host, all moved but doesnt work

I am really new to all this but I have managed to have a working store on one server. I now want to move it to another server. I have exported the database from myphpadmin and imported it to the new account (after loads of attempts) I also downloaded all the entire site from the old account onto the new account (godaddy for both) and reinstalled it, it successfully installed except it wasnt picking up what was in the database I transferred. (i hope this is making sense).
Then I read somewhere to change the config.php files in includes and admin/includes, I think this is wehre I went wrong because now when I go to my domain it is looking for the zc_install folder, which I have deleted because iut told me too.

A couple of problems here. Firstly, if you are transferring an existing database, then you don't re-install Zen Cart, you just tweak the configure files to reflect the new location. By re-installing you wipe out your database. Happily you have your old site and the backup you took to transfer it.

The second problem is that having re-installed, the configure files would most likely have been correct for your site, so any changes made to them, are likely to make it wrong.

Here's what I'd do from here. Copy the zc_install back in and do another re-install, this should get your configure files correct. Then import your old database into your new one.

Thanks so much to both of you, I decided to start from scratch and follow the instructions posted step by step,. I have gone through and done the fix_cache_ket.php and the message I get is

1146 Table 'kezza2.kezza2configuration' doesn't exist
in:
[select configuration_key as cfgkey, configuration_value as cfgvalue from kezza2configuration]

Which is also what I get when I type in the URL.

Any ideas.

I'm guessing that you have entered your database name where your database prefix should go. If you're not sure if you're using a database prefix, look in phpMyAdmin at the name of your "configuration" table. If it has something in front of the word configuration (such as "zen_") then that's your prefix.

Then edit your configure files to correct your prefix, or be NULL (two single apostrophes with nothing in between) as appropriate.
