Changing index listing layout

Hello all,
I need help improving the layout of the index listing on my home page.

At the moment, the index listings of new products, featured products and special products show an image of the product, the name of the product underneath the image and then the price of the product underneath the name.

I have added an attribute to each product which is an image. I was wondering if i can put a border aorund each index product and also show the image of the attribute.

The sort of layout i am looking for is similar to the site below:

The attribute on the above site is the image of the network provider which is orange.
I hope you can help me out.
What php file or css file do i need to change?
