help question Specify to save download file

I have WMV downloads. Is there a way to force the viewer to save the file on his computer, rather than going to a temp internet file folder?

I have instructions for them to "right click and to save target as... but not everyone reads instructions.

    No answers.............so, I guess not.

So, the only way to force the buyer to select a download destination is to make the files .zip files rather than .wmv files.

It largely depends on the customer's browser and their PC settings.

Zen Cart natively sends the files as generic binary, which should trigger them to be prompted for save. However, if the PC and/or browser looks only at the filename, it may override that and launch the download directly.

If they right-click and Save As, they can still get around it ... but not everyone knows that trick.

I had instructions to "right click" and save target as... but people do not read instructions or no too well anyway.

So, I just changed all the download file to .zip.
