left column needs to be same height as center column

Right now I have the left column and the center column set to a fixed height. They both have repeating background images. However, if one side grows longer, the other side doesn't grow as well, and there is a gap. If I take out the height, everything's too short. I can't figure out how to make both columns the same adjustable height.

I don't have a simple CSS fix, but the stuff you find here:

contains a function called "same-height" that works very well to pad out CSS divs so they are the same height. And works cross-browser too.

It integrates pretty well with Zen Cart and adds some other nice features as well.
