Default Wamp5/Zencart localhost help "custom template distorted"

Hello, I have a Zencart setup on my PC using Wamp5 server. I have been using Wamp5 to mess with Zencart for some time but have never ran into this problem before. I set up a new Zencart and everything installed great and it works and looks fine in IE7 and Firefox with the original "Contemporary Green" template. I add the necessary files indicated HERE then change it over to my custom template and it looks like THIS. I then change it back over to the "Contemporary Green" it looks fine again. Any solutions why my custom template looks like it does I have another site on my PC in wamp5 and its working fine in both IE7 and Firefox but I did that quite some time ago and possibly changed something to get it to work. I dont recall doing anything though!

    Thanks,
    Chad

The article you referenced only addresses the creaton of the template_info.php file.
If you look at this folder for your custom template, and you have no css file or any others - you have only a skeleton of a template and the template_default "defaults" are being used. Now you can copy the stylesheet from template_default to your template/css folder and edit it or make copies of the "classic" files and place them into your template folder and proceed with individual styling from there.

The template_default is multi color as it is to aid one in locating the sections of the stylesheet that control them by color. As all of this is stylesheet/css configurable you can adjust to your liking.

As you are local you will have to look at what is in your template/css folder

No tut that I am aware of but a standard rule that any file you edit where a classic folder exists at that level should be copied to your template folder that your create at the same level.

NOTE: Only edited files , as if there is none then the default is used.

What is the file name contents of your template/css folder?

Yes, Are these the files thaqt are there? In your template/css folder?

Where did your get these from? It looks as though you grabbed them from the template_default/css folder from your jpg

To be honest I cant remember where I grabed them from so I deleted my custom css folder and copyed from the "Clasic folder" and changed templates in the admin and it worked to a point. It now works in IE but not in firefox? I need it to work in firefox because I use Firebug. Any sugestions? Oh and I didnt mean to double post! just thought I would ask another question ...

    Thanks,
    Chad

It works and it doesn't work are not descriptive enough to theorize the issue.

Try clearing the browser cache first for both browsers.

You should see essentially the same thing in both

Clearing the Firefox browser cache worked I must have grabed the files from the default folder. I have another question? Can I grab common folder files from the default folder or other files since the clasic folder doesnt have these. Right now I have a common folder "empty" and need a file tpl_main_page.php from the default folder. Can I do that?

    Thanks,
    Chad

Yes, this is the intent of the overrides - just the files you have to edit to keep upgrading and comparing files that are changed at a minimum.
