Default Please help! Mass product upload?

Hello I am currently tryng to understand the building mechanics of zen cart. I love the program but I cannot seem to figure out how to upload several if not thousands of products in lue of manualy adding them 1 by 1. I was sent a developer tool kit from one of my suppliers and in it there is a folder PHP>sls_basics.inc, images>2,000 jpg's, dot NET>sls_basics.dll, and stand alone files product_categories.txt, product_details.txt, product_details.XML, product_details.xls I am not too well hersed on what ive been reading and so im confused can anyone help ? Thank you!!

Suggest you search forums here for Easy Populate..
Free standard version available for download at

Easy Populate is a great tool for ADDING new products, changing prices, attributes, inventory, etc. When it comes to writing product descriptions, especially with the Tabbed Products contribution, I find it much cleaner and easier to write the description in simple HTML & CSS, paste it into an Excel cell and upload it with Easy Populate than to do the products one by one in ZenCart admin.
But be aware that (as far as I can see):
    1. It does not let you DELETE products.
    2. If you move a product to a new category or subcategory, it creates a LINKED product. It does not remove the listing in the original category and the "Master Product Category" becomes invalid. I found that the easiest way to correct this for a group of products (e.g. when I moved them to a new subcategory) was to find the product listings in the SQL database using phpMyAdmin and delete the old ones directly. Be sure you backup your database before you do it, just in case.

Oops! Just looked at ModHole and it seems that the newer version of Easy Populate has already taken care of the 2 problems I mentioned above. Time to update. Don't you just LOVE ZenCart and open source software! Something new every day.

There are also two Easy Populate mods in the downloads area.
    One is langer's "Free" version.
The other is someone's attempt to port the osc version to use in Zen Cart.
As with all the mods, use at own risk.

And on Langer's site the new one with corrected bugs and added features is an advanced module that you need to pay for... not so much money though if you really need.

I'm wondering if I could update the attributes somehow nicely with this...
I may be blond but at least I found Zen.

I just upgraded my 1.3.7 to 1.3.8a today using EZP303, and it seems to work fine at this time.

303 is the commercial version, but the free version (1.2.5.4) will work with 1.3.8
