    Default a new challenge

I love the layout of this site: http://www1.macys.com
I would like to implement some of their features on my site. For example, when you click on a category (Men, women,Juniors, etc,) you are presented with a side menu for that particular category. Is there a way this can be done in zen cart? If so, where do I start?

I'd make a new sidebox based on the existing categories sidebox ... then strip the top-level categories out of it. Should be easy enough.

You can use a Blank Sidebox, then open up the Categories Sidebox, copy over the code, then modify the SQL query that generates the listing and if cPath is set, restrict the query to just the current cPath ...

    Does this make sense?

Just set a condition that if the page loaded is the index, the sidebox categories isn't loaded.. Then any other page you go to you see the categories sidebox

Yes - I've done this several times. Download the Blank Sidebox mod and look through all of the files, especially the readme. Then look at the equivalent files in the categories sidebox. Note the differences in code. Then copy the different code from the categories sidebox to the blank one. Modify as needed.

That wouldn't solve the problem of the top-level categories being shown in the sidebox...
