Delivery Date

Zen cart does not provide delivery date.
So how can I include delivery date option in the checkout process? So that customers would be able to pick a delivery date when placing orders.

I gave up on this.

In the comments section during the order process (bottom of checkout shipping page) I have as the heading above the text field:

Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order
Include a requested delivery or usage date, special request, colours, etc.

In Tool box look for the: TABLE_HEADING_COMMENTS to edit the field


We do flowers and it seems to work fine, as this is one industry where people can get a bit picky about delivery dates.

I suppose you could do what i have been putting off in hopes of finding a better solution: Make a required text field attribute on the product called "Requested Delivery Date" or something..

I really really need a feature like this as well. My vote is in.

Why not simply create attribute delivery time? You than can set options for those times, and set values to these if there is a difference in cost.

Do you mean to use this as a sort of shipping module? For example, if a customer needed a product in 2 days, to have the attribute add X amount to the product?

If so, what if the person lived far away and shipping was more than your predetermined attribute?

The other problem is that you have a delivery field for every single product when you are really going to just want to know the delivery date for the whole order. Setting shipping dates for products individually will also lead people to the expectation that they can set different delivery dates for different products in the order... Wouldn't it make more sense if a feature like this was added to the checkout process?
