Download: Item Name missing

Hi all.

Rule of thumb: If its working, don't touch it.

I must have touched something.

Downloads were working great last night, and then I created a new attribute with a new name and deleted the old (it was late, what can I say...). Then, I lost the ability to download with this new attribute. The download file name (i.e. page.htm) no longer appears on the order confirmation page under "Item Name" during the checkout process. I've made a couple new attributes and none of them work. Dooooh!

Here's what I checked on my checklist...what do you think is missing?
1) Option name, option value, and attribute are okay
2) The file is in the download folder and shows up valid in Download Manager
3) Download Manager is enabled and set to redirect
4) Product shipping is set to NO for virtual and NO for normal shipping rules.
5) In this demo, the product is marked "free"

Anyone have a clue? I'm open to hand signals at this point! (friendly signals, that is). Thanks. websitebob

Got a screen-shot ?

What happens if you start over and create new option names/values/attributes for this ? Perhaps one of your changes or deletions has got things out of sync and you've lost track of which one.

The screen shot of the order confirmation page is attached. The name of the download file should be listed under Item Name, but is missing.

In answer to your question, I have created a couple new option/names/values/attributes, but still get the same result. I had changed the shipping to Virtual, but corrected that after reading a post. Yes, its possible to tweak one thing and upset the cart, but I can't think of a setting to review again beyond these in the Admin panel:

Attribute Settings
Download Manager
Options Name
Options Value
Attribute Controller
Shipping

I'm tempted to delete the product and start a new. I think I'll start a new one anyways.

Doooh!

The image I uploaded was the wrong page...

Anyways. In my tweaking, I remembered that I had turned off many of the shipping methods listed in modules > shipping. I turned them back on and I get the Item Name. But, when I press the download button I get an error message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/domain/public_html/folder/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php:57) in /home/domain/public_html/folder/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php on line 108

I'll take a look at it before I ask for more assistance. Thanks.

In your example, the Option Name is "Class:" and the Option Value is "HTM"
If you have a filename associated with that attribute as a download, you won't see the filename itself, unless it's part of the option value assigned.

After checkout you'll see a link to the files associated with downloads on your order.

That's correct.

The Item Name was showing up as the "page.htm" that I placed in the download folder. Before I made changes, I was able to click on the Item Name to go directly to page.htm. Now, there's a download button....which at the moment is giving me header output errors.

I'll look into it before I ask more questions. Thanks for keeping on top of it! It helps a lot.
