No Admin Login Page loading

If you try to load the admin page, but the page doesn't load, but the shop itself does work, it could be that your host is playing with the servers.

I was like OMG what did I do wrong when this happened to me, but after talking with my host I knew enough. They were updating to PHP5.2.4 and this went wrong cuz of a bug in the PHP_Self value (they said..) where it duplicates this value.

To keep the shop running, the solution it to switch back to php4. (via HELM control at my host, don't know about yours though) and wait a couple of days till the bug gets fixed.

I hope this information will help you when stressed out seeing a blank admin page!

Another test is:

Check and see if it works if you edit the file:
/admin/includes/configure.php

And set the enable on the secure pages to false ...

If so, you do not have the right URL for your secure pages ...

Linda, can you help clarify this for me? I am having the same problem as others have mentioned, ssl all of a sudden (on a 2-year-old cart) not working, was unable to checkout, login as customer or admin.

I went in ftp and edited the 2 configure.php files - set SSL to false, and it works now - I was planning on letting that be a temp fix while the host figures out if it is something they did last night (i had sales yesterday afternoon). In the meantime I found this thread and wonder what you mean by

... my ssl url has not changed, and the store works after I changed the setting to false.

I assume when the host figures out their stuff I just change the seting in configure.php (x2) back to true I should be ready to go... right??

Thanks for any insight - brains go a bit fuzzy when a 'page not found' starts showing up on a live cart!

This sounds like your hosting site needs a restart on the server ...

Thanks for the note - I thought that should do it too, but I also thought for a minute you were saying that if changing that setting to true made it work then the url was a problem... just making sure. THANKS!
