how to reduce the width of the item box in product listing???

hi all

i have a problem in product listing page . my current page is below and i want 2 reduce the width of the item cell.



in my current product listing page i have given description 80 words. but my client want full description will show on product listing page i want my full description will show in product listing page. here is the screen shot




can anybody help me?????

It looks like you have set the product listing description to 80 characters. That setting is not "words" but "characters". Just set it bigger until everything you want shows up. There is no harm in setting it to 1000.

As far as making the description cell smaller while keeping the whole table as is, you can't effectively do that without some coding, and why would you want to anyway? What would it help?
