Clone site - not working ?

[FONT=Times New Roman]I have a Zen Cart install on a local host I have been building for ever! What I want to do is clone the site and then work on the clone but to a smaller scale. I have purchased a different domain name to do this so the business will actually be split into two similar business ideas. [/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]I have exported the original database and ready to import. I am not sure what my original database was called though or what the passwords are. Is there a file I can look at to work this out please? I also use Drupal and know that looking at the settings file shows me the database name, user name and password?[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]Unfortunately it does not help me much. If I set up a new data base on my local host and access the copied sites files through the web browser the site shows up with the new name. [/FONT]

Did you update both configure.php files with the new paths ?

Okay... so let me slip in here and ask.... I have a "clean shop" set up... but I also have one online on my website... now I need to have a dev copy of the live database (someone else built it for me online and now I have to make changes myself)...

I copied the directory holding all the live code... I ftp-ed it down from my live site....

I then put it in the copied directory into my xampp directory:
C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\shop\includes\templates\{MyCopi edLiveDir}

Now localhost\shop still does NOT display my copy of the live site... I have also changed the
configure.php
index.php
files but which one should I have changed? The copies in here?
C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\shop\includes

Please help. Last time I started dabbling I messed up my install for two days and had to reinstall xampp and MySQL.... once I get a local copy I'll be straight but until then I am too scared to experiment...

Oh, and I have bought the book but its been a week and it has yet to arrive so that will be here anyday now - hopefully - but help still urgently needed.
