Urgent need of help - slow site

Hi everybody!
I set up a shop for a few weeks ago and everything was going fine until a few days ago. Suddenly the shop was extremely slow! Yesterday I was counting the time it took to load startpage. 45 secs....

I cant recall any modifications or installations of mods that could have caused this problem.
Have the site been hacked or what?

Please help! And please give me some tips and ideas of what I can do to speed up things. I have enabled Gzip and I have ImageHandler installed.

If I need to optimize the database where can i find the tool to do it? Searched the forum for the contib that does it but couldnt find it.

Could be the Server your account is on is having problems.

Admin > Config > Logging: Display The Page Parse Time = true

By turning that on you can see (as shown at page bottom) just where the slowdown is occurring; either in PHP or mySQL. If time shown for either is greater than 1 sec., the Server has a problem. Make sure to refresh the page though to get an accurate listing.

I doubt the problem is on your end or with ZC but if the Server itself is slow, there is not much you can do to improve things.

Thanks for putting time into this.
I mailed my host about it yesterday and maybe they have done something right now cause it feels much faster. (my other sites on same account also was a bit slow).

This is the result now for parse time. Is it good?

Try running it through that friend. Might help you pinpoint some things.

Ola, your information is not complete but speed looks fine.

Should look something like:
Parse Time: 0.227 - Number of Queries: 43 - Query Time: 0.023587170944214

The above is for a ZC with no products which is why the # of Queries is so low.
