Developer's Tool Kit

i've read that the Developer's Tool Kit is supposed to be in the "Tools" folder in the admin folder, but i don't have a Tools folder in my admin folder. am i looking in the wrong place?

It's in the admin panel (backend) of your cart, on the top menu bar, 3rd button
from right.

i'm sorry, i don't know what or where the admin panel is. i'm a little lost at the moment. i've installed Zen Cart and i've taken some of the recommended security measures, but i need more help to get started and i think the developer's tools are probably what i need. what exactly do i need to do to open the back end of the store?
