How do I get new products to show in new products sidebox?

Right now this sidebox is only showing older items in spite of the fact that I have many new items. is there a place in admin to make this work?

did you add a date for release for the produces pages?
if so what is the date set for if its set for a date that 5 days or so before todays date it will not show up. Leave the product date blank for now.

Check your settings in the Configuration ... Maximum Values ...

New Product Listing - Limited to ...
Limit the New Product Listing to
0= All Products
1= Current Month
7= 7 Days
14= 14 Days
30= 30 Days
60= 60 Days
90= 90 Days
120= 120 Days
