Remove book ad / move up new products

I searched and couldn't this. I want to remove the large book add in the center of the page and move up the New products box to take it's place at the top. I figured out how to remove the othher banners but this one is elusive. Thanks for helping a noob.

Are you talking about what's in the Tools --> Define Pages Editor section? (main page)

If you could post a link, that would help us see what you're talking about.

When you first install Zen Cart, there is a big Zen Cart book advertisement in the center of the main page. I want to remove this and bring the new items for the month list to the top. Thanks.

EDIT. Links from outside my site are getting 403 error. I need to tweak my htaccess file.

You can quickly access the content via Admin->Tools->Define Pages Editor->define_main_page

Note: You really need to set up your own overrides and not edit the Classic template. See the FAQs for template customizing.

Ok, I'll check it out. What is the advantage to that and the disadvantage to editing the default template?

I'm not new to programming but I am new to PHPBB and Zen Cart so this is all a learning curve for me. Thanks.

If you don't create a custom template override your customizations will be overwritten with your next upgrade.
