    Default Back to Top?

I am considering adding "Back to Top" links on the Babywearing Info page after each carry so that ppl don't have to scroll so much. Is this doable?
I did a search for back to top and all I got was an article talking about how it isn't recommended.

    What do you think?

And how would I add this?

I'd like to have a clickable list at the top like :

    Front cross Carry
    Back cross Carry
    etc
    etc

that link to each section and then have the back to top link after each section.

    Those are called anchors.
This post talks about them a bit:

So basically this is kind of difficult to achieve?

    I am still confused.

Is my Babywearing Info page a "category"?

I don't want a "top" link at the bottom of each page; I want several of them on one page.

And how to make the clickable links that take you to different spots on the page?

The thread I posted shows how to put a "Back to Top" link anywhere on a page, not just at the bottoom. And you can include it as many times as you'd like within one page.

The thread posted by DrByte shows how to use Anchor links within the same page.

I think you've reached the point where you now have the information you need and need only to do some testing with the code, to achieve the desired results.

I dunno ... how did you create it? Is it a category? or is it its own page? Did you create its content in a language file or as a define-page file?

    1. You need to define your "sections" as you call them. You need to put an Anchor link at the top of the "section" so there's something to "link" to when someone clicks the "link".

    Insert something like:
    Code:
    <a name="thisismysection">My Section</a>
    2. At the top of your page, add another one for the top, perhaps like this:

    Code:
<a name="top">For quick navigation, choose from the links below</a>
    3. Create an index of links at the top of your page
    Code:
    <a href="#thisismysection">Go to My Section</a>
    <a href="#thisismyothersection">Go to My OtherSection</a>
    4. Wherever you want "back to top" links, add them:

    Code:
    <a href="#top">Back to top</a>

    References
I wrote the above from information obtained by searching for "anchors" in Google. The first three articles talking about HTML instead of heavy hunks of iron holding boats in place were the following:
    http://www.hypergurl.com/anchors.html
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
    http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/links.html

I'm sure you can find more information on the topic if you continue along those lines.

Oh, and by the way, the correct way to insert a "break" tag is <br />, not </br> ... note the slash comes AFTERward, not before.
