customer remembering zip code for shipping calculator?

After customer enter a zip code, shipping calculator shows options and cost of shipping methods. When the customer select a different item, or when he/she re-visits the site, the zip code has to be re-entered?

Like the customer name can be detected, the zip code should be entered automatically. Is there is way to fix that?

In the current version of Zen Cart, the Shipping Estimator does remember the address entered ...
