Website Crashes After Login or Checkout

This really does sound like a connectivity problem. Perhaps your actual internet connection is behaving oddly?

Have you had customers report the same problem from other geographic locations?
Do other websites also stop working when you're getting these errors from your site?

I am able to view other websites in IE and firefox as this problem occurs. I am also able to view other websites that are hosted with the same company as this problem occurs. The website goes down for a few minutes then is accesible.

The store is not live or is not linked from the rest of the site so I don't know if other users are experiencing this problem.

I'll ask a friend to replicate this problem for me and see if they get the same error.

Well if doing a checkout is overloading your server, then you'll need to talk to your hosting company about what's happening on the server.

Perhaps they'll have some logs on the server which will explain why the server suddenly stops responding to you specifically.
