Default Denied access to the Coupon Restriction area

I would like to set up a coupon that has a restriction for one manufacturer, but when I try to access the restriction area I get this message:

Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this resource.

Please contact your site administrator if you believe this to be incorrect.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.
I am using the main user, so what can I do to fix this?

NEver mind that one - I figured it out on my own

But once I entered the restriction area I noticed that I could only put restrictions on either categories or products. Is there a way to put restrictions to certain manufacturers?

That is correct. You can only apply restrictions directly to categories or individual products.
To do all products of a given manufacturer, you'll have to manually specify all of that manufacturer's products.
