Multiple download directories

Hi,

We have 70+ designers that sell downloadable products in our store. We are using a modified version of the admin mod by Kuroi to allow them to upload their own products to a hidden category. We want to allow them to associate their zip file(s) to their own download directory rather than the main download directory we currently use.

Is this possible? If so then how can I set it up?

You would set it up as follows. Create subfolders in the download folder for each designer. Ensure they know the name of their subfolder. When they attach the download file to the product via the attributes controller, have them prefix the name of their file with their subfolder path.

E.g. Jessica has a subfolder called jessica and wants to attach her mydesign zip file to a product. She would enter the following in the product's downloadable products filename field:

jessica/mydesign.zip

The good news is that it's very simple and works. The bad news is that there's no validation so any mistakes may be missed.

I need to allow them to upload their own products to a hidden category, like the OP mentioned. Please could you tell me where to locate Kuroi and if the modification of the Admin Mod can be done easily?

We have set this up with subfolders in the download folder, but we are getting invalid attribute when we add it in the attribute controller.

Any suggestions why it would be invalid?
