Hello, I am a web designer/developer and I customized and developed zen cart for a client. The web site is http://www.greenmountainorganics.com/... I was asked to set up basically flat rate shipping of $7.95 up to $100, free shipping over $100, and I did set that up and it is working and the store is now online. Just after the store went online, my client, the store manager contacted me and said she wants to have Fed Ex and USPS ...and after a few emails back and forth, I realized that she still wanted to have the shipping calculated as set up but that she wants to have zen cart pass customer information to USPS so that a USPS shipping label can be printed or produced (from USPS) using the $7.95... I wrote back that I didn't think this was possible or at least the whole point of the zen cart USPS shipping module was for zen cart to pass zipcodes and product weights to USPS and USPS then calculates shipping costs...and that she can print a shipping label from zen cart... She wrote back the following:
"I thought zen cart could be set up to transfer the customer info etc to the USPS site to create a shipping label.. I can add in the weight on the USPS site, I dont need zen cart to calculate that.. To ship a label from zen cart does me no good- there is no shipping paid with the label. This is OK for fed ex (would rather be printing an actual shipping label for this too)but I need a shipping label with postage for USPS. I am pretty sure =zen cart can be set to transfer that info to USPS using the web tool program."
"In regards to shipping- in my mind, there is not a functioning shipping feature here. That would mean that I could print shipping labels with postage paid from the site. I really consider this to be part of set up. I do want free shipping for orders over $100, and 7.95 for orders under- I should still be able to have an active shipping module working to print shipping labels with postage."
If anyone out there can say "YES, THIS CAN BE DONE..." and point me in the right direction....or if anyone can say, as I think, that this dosn't work this way... I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT! HelenSama
