customer log in required?

Is it possible to configure ZC so that customers can place an order without creating an account? If so, where do you set this option in admin or elsewhere?

I noticed you give lots of great help, so I was hoping you could help me too.

My site www.diygaragerepair.com is working but I'm having a problem with customers creating an account.

It gives the error " You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu."

I try over and over but get the same results.

What can I do about this??

Which version of zencart are you using.. there was a bug similar to
your report which was fixed in zencart 1.36 .. details at

After lots of troubleshooting, I have discovered the basis for many problems.

If you're using a 1.3 Web Template, than I suggest you also use ZC 1.3 or 1.5 to 1.5. So if you choose to use a custom template from 3rd party, make sure your cart is the same version.

Linda, Do you know if this will be available anytime soon. I run/own an osc store and am interested in moving over to Zen. I NEED this feature. My site is 'Adult' and 95% of all customers use my 'purchase without account' option. No sense in moving if I cannot have a feature similar to 'pwa'

Just to reiterate what others are saying. This feature is a must for us as well!

By the way...even if purchase without account is not possible, what would be really helpful is just a signup page that looks less scary! The number of fields is daunting, even if you disable as many as possible in admin. For example, first name and last name should be combined into one field. There is no need for mr. ms. Don't put phone in a separate group, it takes up more space. Finally, break up the pages so that choosing a login/password is on another page.

Btw, this is all how Amazon.com does it, and they are the leader in customer experience. I don't mean to sound negative, but anyone who doesn't understand why this is important doesn't understand user interface design! This is important, and its costing zen cart users untold numbers of sales.

Zen cart is the best open source cart out there by far...its really a shame this rather important feature hasn't been added.
