I can't get past the "Hello. Thank you for loading Zen Cart™."

I've upgraded the database and installed all of the 1.3.8 files but when I try to go to the admin section I keep getting the System Setup Required screen. How do I get this screen to go away?

I tried running through the setup again and it shows that I have 1.3.8 on the server but it still will not take that start up screen away.

I need to get into admin to get my template setup again.

It's probably similar to the corrupt-configure.php file problem in your other post.

I tried replacing the configure files with ones from a recent backup the I am sure are good. I still get the same problem. This was the files from the 1.3.8 zip files without any alterations. The only thing I did was to copy the configure files in.

What else could cause this?

I am wondering if my problems have to do with permissions. I did change permissions on the configure files so that should not be the issue. However, I decided to do an install instead of the upgrade and I could not do the install. I received a warning message that I did not have permission to install a new database.

For now I have restored my original files for 1.3.7.1. I checked and was able to get into my admin panel. I then went back and created a new database and imported my backup sql. My admin version check still shows the database as 1.3.8 patch but I think that is a misread from when I checked the versions before making the database switch. One of the database that I made earlier from the same script showed in the install section as 1.3.7.

I hope my store is fully functional now. I will stay with 1.3.7 until I find out why the install page cannot update the configure files.

Opps. the database was showing 1.3.8 because I forgot to make the changes in the adman configure file. I am now back to a 1.3.7 database.

I am glad to at least to be back to have my site back up again.

Yahoooooo!! I did it! I got it upgraded!

Zen Cart 1.3.8
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
v1.3.8 [2007-12-03 09:09:55] (Version Update 1.3.7->1.3.8)
v1.3.7.1 [2007-11-06 21:12:53] (Fresh Installation)

I found I had to get rid of the install folder before I could get past the install screen.

Everything seems to be working!
