    Default Finding and determining corrupt data

    I cannot find record where I had posted about this situation before, and if I have, my apologies to the powers that be.

    We recently discovered that there are some products missing in our database (when viewing or updating through admin) yet when you visit the web site, the products are there are you can check out with them.

    For example go to: www.swansoninc.com and search for an gold praying hands (model number 22207). It should also show as product id 1204 and its master category is 1 and the subcategory is 84. When I view the following tables (products, product types to category, products to categories, and category description) they all seem to match. What in the heck am I missing?

    Also when under admin if I browse to the category of jewelry and then lapel pins, the product is listed as an item, so to have stock, and be an active product.

    Can someone please help? I am not sure if it was because of any data corruption since we upgraded from 1.2.6 to 1.3.7 or not. I cannot tell for sure how many products may or may not be missing or corrupt, and reloading them is not an option. I will have to learn how to find the corrupt data and manually fix. If an super zc admins want to take a stab at it, please PM me and I can give you any login info you may need.

    I'm sure there has been a recent thread asking about the same question, and a solution was suggested by Ajeh (which worked), so you may want to search for it.

    Thanks... Didn't help a whole lot though :o( One of the things I have noticed between users posting and the search capabilities of the site is the algorithm that is used for the search engine. Like multiple key word combinations used, etc. which makes finding the right answer quickly (and eliminating the double+ posts) from happening. True some people are lazy by nature, some don't know how to use the search engine(s) properly, or sometimes you just don;t get the desired results you are looking for.

    just my .02 cents (GRIN)

    If I'm desperate enough, I'll just use the advanced search and search for all Ajeh posts. That's why I mentioned her name for you ;)

    yellow1912;

    haha and touche, point taken. I do not spend as much time (as I should but don't have it) as I do this on the side and it has even taken me three years to get where I am at (which I guess is not too far.) I'll check out your suggestions a second time and repost if I do not find it.

    Regards...
