Need to Undo Zone Definitions

During the import of OSC to Zen the 5 Zone Definitions:
Canadian Provinces
International-Zone to Cover the Rest of the World
My State-Taxable Goods
United States (lower 48)
United States (outlying)

Were imported and of course I realize now that although they show up in the Admin that table is not being called upon to do anything.

What can I do to patch this, or delete and reinstall the zone definitions?

When you say they aren't being used to do anything, what do you mean? If they appear in the admin under Locations/Taxes >> Zones, they can be used to setup payment methods, or shipping methods, specific to only those Zones.

If you want to edit them, they should appear in Locations/Taxes >> Zones Definitions.

I may have got completely the wrong end of the stick, in which case, please accept my apologies, and could you give a little more detail?

I was not clear enough.

When setting up my taxes and flat rate, the site would charge everyone sales tax (all of US) and no one saw the flat rate unless international address were used.

So the definitions that are showing are not connecting or plugged in backwards.

Can the Zones_World contribution be modified to my needs?

Like I mentioned before, the OSC definitions worked great in OSC and miraculously showed up in Zen Admin.

I tool a closer look and found that even though The Zone Definitions:

Canadian Provinces Canadian Provinces
International Zone to Cover the Rest of the World
State Taxable Goods
United States (lower 48) U.S. lower 48
United States (outlying) U.S. outlying and overseas

Were appearing, you need to actually Define them just like adding products to a Category.

Each Zones is a directory like a category. Add your inner zones to them and customize based on your needs.

For instance, I offer a flat rate shipping of $6.99 for up to 1 pound. This covers jst small parts shipped USPS Priority in the US 48, not Hawaii or PR, VI.

So I simply create a zone for the US 48, another for Outlying Islands, Canada, All other countries. Don't forget one for your State or Province.

Not so simple. You'll need to create several address entries in your OWN account on your OWN site to test out taxes, shipping, etc and to test your site in different scenarios.

Hint- UPS will make you round up the next pound so make sure you are getting paid enough to cover shipping. 1 Lb 1 oz is charged as 2.0 LB.

Good to see you found the solution. Thanks for posting it here. All to often solutions are found and the threads are left open, which is a pain for anyone trying to search with the same problem in the future.

I read a rant of a couple frustrated newbies and thought the same thing that not many people actually post the solution to close the thread.

My issue is not completely done because the US 48 option still contains the outlying islands (All Zones). I need US 48 to be just the mainland.

Is there a contribution in development for this or do I have to definitely add 48 entries to define the definition?

If I understand you correctly, currently you have US 48 linked to the US, which includes all zones within. Unfortunately, you will need to go through and add all the individaul zones to your US 48 definition. If you have the full world zones installed, this will incude extras such as Armed Forces addresses etc. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a module so you can just remove a couple of zones, rather than add all 48.

Yip. 192 moves later and US48 means the US mainland, US Outlying Islands are, Alaska, HI, PR, VI, and the many others.

Each State had to be added manually.

We need a plug in contribution for this.
