    Default 2 copies of e-mail

    Why would Zen-Cart send 2 copies of e-mails out from Contact Us page? I can use Outlook or Yahoo and send an e-mail to my contact@blah.blah and receive just 1 e-mail but going from my Zen_cart site, it copies the e-mail. Any help? I am using 1.3.7 and here are my settings on e-mail options.

    So nobody knows how to fix this problem? All I'm asking is to take a look and see if I have something setup wrong. Like I've stated in the post, It only does it when sending from the site. I've been trying to get this site up and running for 3months now and these little bugs are killing me.

    Zen Cart is set up to send one email at a time.

    Why you're getting two copies is unclear.

    Possible causes:
    - you have specified an email address that is a forwarder address and your mailserver is the one creating the duplicates
    - you have customized the code such that it is sending twice
    - you have an error somewhere and when people try to get around the error, they cause the page to be submitted again, thus sending the email a second time


    One way to determine if it's an issue with Zen Cart is to track the emails Zen Cart is sending:
    a) Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Archiving--- set it to true
    b) Go to the Downloads area (link at top of this page) and install the Email Archive Manager tool.
    c) use the Email Archive Manager to see how many copies of the email are stored.

    If only one copy of the emails is found in the archive manager, then Zen Cart is only producing one copy ... thus the problem is someplace outside Zen Cart.

    There is only 1 copy of the e-mail getting into the archive but does that necessarily mean that it's not somehow duplicating the mail via a missed setting?

    -My contact@blah.blah address is not forwarded in cpanel.

    -As far as customizing, I haven't written any code....although now that I think about it, I'm using the contributed site template Silverfish; not sure if that's it or not.

    -It really hasn't been tested by anyone other than myself and the guy running the server.

    If Zen Cart has only one copy of the email in its archive, then it's only sending it once.

    If you look at the email in the archive, how many "to" addresses were on it? There should only be one.

    In your earlier posts, you have nothing showing in the "Email Address (displayed to contact you)" setting. Why is that?

    What happens if you send an email from a regular email program to the contact-us address?
    What happens if you use the Admin->Tools->Send Email tool to send an email to the contact-us address?

    There is only 1 "To" address. Also in the other posts I did address the fact that I had used Outlook and Yahoo. Each had sent 1 e-mail. I also just tried Sendmail from Admin and it sent just 1. It only happens through the contact us page.

    Sorry to be so abrassive but if you want to consider yourself to be a good tech support area for a product, even given the fact that it is free, at least give someone the benefit of a doubt when they tell you that it may be a problem with a missed setting.

    It ended up being the Admin>Config>E-mail Options..."E-mail must send from known domain" option. Once I set it to No, it worked fine. I've just been working on this for far too long to have thrown up my hands.

    I know the moderators may not allow this to post due to the content but I just thought I would at least let you know what the problem was.
