    Default Zones Not Working

    This is another problem I'm having that started with an earlier thread. I found out how to add free shipping to just US and Canada using the freeoptions shipping module. However, I cannot get my zones to work.

    Here is what I did:

    I went to Locations/Taxes > Zones Definitions
    Clicked Insert and added a name and description for the zone
    Clicked Details, then Insert
    Selected United States of America for Country and All Zones for zones

    I then went to the freeoptions setup under Modules>Shipping and chose the zone under Shipping Zone. But when I click update, the little circle under Sort Order turns yellow (as opposed to green) and the module does not work. The sort order is fine and I only have one other module set up which is USPS.

    What am I doing wrong??

    First, test that the Free Shipping Options freeoptions is working with the Zone set to NONE ...

    What conditions are set on the Free Shipping Options freeoptions?

    Then, logout ... add your Zone to the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and create a new customer account to test the Zone ...

    The freeoptions does work with the zone set to none...it's active on my site right now. Below is how I have my freeoptions set up currently. This way works fine...but it allows for any order to get free shipping over $60.00. However, it is when I set my shipping zone to the one I set up (United States > All Zones and Canada > All Zones) it does not work. I tested it with an address in New Zealand and Portugal and they still showed up as free shipping, even though they were not included in the zones I specified. Any ideas as to what is going on?

    Your countries table and zones tables do not appear up to date ...

    What version of Zen Cart are you running?

    Clean Install or an Upgrade?

    How did you Install it? How did you Upgrade it?

    I'm running 1.3.5 right now. I had someone install it for me back when v1.2 was out. He upgraded it to this version when it came out and basically it is going to take an overhaul to get it to 1.3.8 if I want to upgrade that far because of all the mods and template changes. So, I'm sticking with this for the time being.

    Is there any way to update the tables?

    I think you have a combination of problems ...

    v1.3.5 is very buggy on addresses and shipping ...

    You really need to upgrade to v1.3.8a to get these issues fixed ... I think it would take more time and money to try to work out all of the issues compounded here in this old version that you are using than to upgraded your software ...

    There are numerous bugs and security issues in v1.3.5 where one of the major ones has to do with the addresses of the customer, shipping and payment addresses ...

    This, in addition to the problems with your database tables on the zones and countries are compounding to make a mess of things ...

    Upgrading is the best and most reliable way of fix this as well as other errors ...
